What kind of radio setup do you have?
-
i got an original cobra 29 with a wilson 1000 antenna in my car
-
Did you set it up properly? Like did you use a SWR meter between your antenna and your radio?
And are you sure you got it powered up?
Trust me the last one might sound stupid but some folks really need to be asked just cause they are that dumb. Not saying you are though just want to make sure lol. -
ya i tested it and its workin but im just not finding anyone thats out in my area to talk to
-
To be honest i dont know what to say sept to try and find a place that works on cb's and see if they can help ya out.
-
Well Buzzsaw, if everything has checked out ok, and your SWR's are low (1.5:1 or lower) then it's likely there's no one on the channel.
Sad to say but CB anymore is pretty much dead, unless you're a truck driver who spend most of their time on 19.
What channels are you on and where are you when you key up?
If you have no friends to talk to and want to talk on the radio, best thing you can do is hit the local interstates, flip to 19 and strike up a conversation.
Or go to a truck stop and mention something about "there's this hot blond with big boobs and a nice butt that needs a ride to (name a major city) can anyone here give her a ride?" If anyone is listening you'll certainly get a few talking back to you.
the buzzsaw kid Thanks this. -
ya thanks Turbo-T im normaly on channel 19 and i normally key up on my way to school and work which i go on a pretty quiet highway
i think ill try going to a truck stop and mentioning a hot blond needing a ride
