I don't know, that's why I'm asking. I understand MY business, but NOT the trucking, hence my ignorance and the legit questions.

Another one that didn't read the post but feels the need to interject. I'm 51, not 15, therefore not a kid. Why not answer the questions I asked in the original post rather than post your opinion on one sentence in the post? Oh yea, Tiktok brain. Can't stand to read for more than 30 seconds without injecting your opinion. Call me a dick or whatever names you feel necessary. You don't exist in my world, therefore your opinion means dick.

Because nobody has any good experience working for them. They promise the sky and people quit going broke. You should go work for one and let us know how it works out. Maybe you will be the first. Drivers complain about they can’t idle engine in summer or winter for heat, they charge them for out of route miles and truck is not DOT legal. They change the ELD if you say you don’t have driving time.

so let us know how you experience is. You will probably be the one driver they don’t mess with and you make good money.

Chicago 1099 companies can be hit or miss. Many are reputable. BUT, a lot are just plain crooks. It looks good and they offer a lot, but then after a check or two, they start with the excuses on late payments and then in the middle of the night, they send someone to repo their truck and trailer. Your left with nothing. All you can do is go to small claims court to try to get your wages because your not covered by state labor boards.

    Something else to consider here....

At 6 months of driving experience -- you're still pretty much a rookie driver.

approx 6 months CDL driving + 1099 employment = BAD KARMA

I hear man. I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard a new guy tell me he’s going to truck for 4 years and make enough money to retire on.

First, Guys knock off the insults.

Ok, As far as 1099 goes, many of the companies require their driver pay into an escrow account. Problem is when they q=leave the company, they never get this escrow money returned and many will not get paid there final check either. There are a lot of threads on here that show that, so do a search and read some of them.
