Also, if he's an O/O with his own authority, he needs to keep his logs for two years, because they are supporting evidence for IFTA, and they can audit back to two years.

o/o & or have own authority & not sure about log procedure??
-
Can I just scan my logs and keep on file that way??
-
Probably. But, some dot guy might want to see the original copies during the six month life.
In the event that you have an accident, they might try to find all of them prior. -
Can you mark not the eighth day so you done do a 34 restart.
-
-
We are required to show logs for the previous 7 days plus today's. Even a restart doesn't seem to negate that requirement. 60 in seven is applied to operations not dispatching over the full week.

Hi everyone, i have a question, I recently went over my 14 hours of service, what happened was i drive a day cab on an overnight short haul/line job.
A few days ago i got to the hotel with 25 minutes to spare, logged myself off duty on my OBC, when i went to check in they were sold out of rooms, by the time i got back in the cab my 25 minutes had expired, but i had nowheres to sleep and i didnt feel safe in the parking lot, so i drove 4 miles to the next nearest hotel, is this a violation?
If not i would like to find some documentation somewheres to print and show my boss
thank you all for your help.kickin chicken Thanks this. -
Technically if you weren't under load and had been released from work for the day that could be logged as off duty. Also, you could cover 4 miles in under 7 minutes so even if you did log it, it would roll back to the previous 15 mark and it'd still be legal.
Baack and kickin chicken Thank this. -
