Exhaust leaks should be relatively easy to spot. Any leaks before the DPF should leave little black soot trails. On flex pipe, you will typically see it in between the ribs. I've never come across a leak after the DPF. Since you won't see any soot after the DPF, I'm not so sure what the best method would be.

I contacted my fm and told him what was going on and he's going to route me to a terminal. I'll explain what's going on to them and push them to look into it. Because it's really starting to effect my health. I also have to talk to them about my coolant because I filled it up on the 30th and already I've lost an inch or so. I don't see any leaks so that worries me as well.

2019 and it's still an issue. Finbyrd, I've had the same problem. 3 hours in traffic jam on NJ turnpike. After that I went to a fuel stop, but didn't even fuel up. Had dizziness, shakey hands, poor vision focus, and rapid heart beat. Reported it to fleet, took myself out of service, I was not going to drive like that. Parked auto-start to charge EPU flooded my cab with exhaust. I opened windows and eventually had to leave cab and go away for an hour. Came back and had to vent cab of fumes. It was bad. Finally got sent for repair check, after another few days, and guess what, flex pipe after turbo was damaged, right under cab air intake. (2019 International LT).

You would be dead before you know it with the gases that can get into the cab.

OOS that truck and have that leak fixed before you send it out again with a driver and load.

In the old days, before everything went proprietary, you could have just walked in to any parts store and bought a chunk of flex pipe and two clamps and it would have fit on half the trucks on the road.

Oxbow and Diesel Dave Thank this.
