Dumping will turn your hair gray. I never liked dumping with a strong wind, let alone with something hung up in it. Lucky it didn't go over.

I dunno, if weight wasn't an issue we had a straight belt truck with two drop axles on it that we could get 97k on. Well, not on, but total weight and a trailer would have more space. I liked that one. The belt was fast too. You pop the main door and it would shoot gravel 15 feet out.
I don't it'd hurt sales of hoppers too much. You still have guys that prefer them and they seem to be pretty scarce lately. -

Yep we got it Mrs BHW. Tornado sirens went off and for about 10 mins the hardest rain I've ever seen plus wind. Small tornado about 3/4 mile from here. Alot of limbs down and power off from 5:30PM to 12:10 AM. Had to get up and turn all the lights off. I hauled some Jupiter rice seed yesterday. Jupiter is a public medium grain variety. It cost $14/bu.. Hard to believe there's that much difference. You do have to plant 70lbs/Ac vs 30 but it's still a lot of difference.
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Found out today grain merchandiser for Cargill is quitting or resigned or whatever. I am just thankful he's gone, he wasn't giving me squat for loads...hopefully next one will be better.
I usually get along ok with them but this guy was a real jewel... low balling rates something terrible. I had a elevator manager tell me that he told him he was going to offer a ridiculous rate and see what trucks would haul it for that.
I'll have to prove myself all over again to new merchandiser but can't be any worse than last one. -
Good luck with whoever they get for a new merchandiser, WH. The sad thing is that the guy probably found a few suckers that would haul it for peanuts. Hope his replacement will treat you fairly.

Thanks RW, didn't mean to rant so much about merchandiser. This guy has been a pain in my ### for last year and a half. I'm actually feeling optimistic it's been a while.
