Usa truck a joke......stayaway

they gave me the boot the day before i got a trk. Told me nothing. last job was lowboys an logs diddent have exp. i guess . but they did me right.

 

You nailed it Aaron. I'm at the WM terminal to get the a/c fixed and find out why it's drinking more water than a camel. (maybe the EGR).
They never answer the phone, they talk down to you and yes they put freight movement over safety.
I got a job offer from another non-mega on Wednesday. As soon as I get home, I'm turning in the truck. When I get on with them I'll tell you who they are. 37cpm, no qc, lots of miles, western 11 only and they go near my house a lot. My buddy has made it home every week and averages $1k bring home every week. He has a 68mph truck too.

 

Thanks again, Although I am sure there are a few with USA that are very happy, I have decided to not chance it myself..... I have decided to go with another outfit, I will be breaking my contract, but at least I will be in orientation Monday, not weeks from now..... I will owe Solutions mega bucks, but at least the new place pays for the schooling at a low rate per month and I can add the difference....
If I have not even gotten an orientation date can they still hit my dac ??????
If I wait on the Texas hard copy it would be weeks for orientation, and also emailed USA and ask about living in Texas or Florida, they told me they are not hiring out of either at this time. Solutions claims not true, ... I really do not want to go to orientation , then be sent home and wait even longer as I have read that they do to some of the new people..... also the fact is my step son while on the road has met many, many dissatified with USA, afew that made it the year and a few that walked..

On my home to the Fontana drop yard, fighting to get home by Sun nite for a Monday dental appointment. Going to meet my gf at the yard, empty my truck and QC my resignation. Ended all the way up in VA because no one else could finish up my hazmat load in West Memphis so I could head back west.
Haven't met a happy driver here yet. There may be a few old timers that make enough and live where they can get home, but overwhelmingly, it's a burn and churn company. As the OP said, stay away!

 

Well, I got home yesterday afternoon. While waiting to get in the gate of the drop yard I met a lady leaving in a USA truck. She said the yard was full of USA trucks and trailers because everyone was quitting and turning in their trucks!
I met another driver on the street waiting to deliver in the am. Same deal, the western drivers are never west and can't get home for important commitments.
They will read you the rule book chapter and verse when they can, but look the other way when they are in the wrong.
Overall, USA got me back in the driver's seat, allowed me to see my kids in Houston twice and enabled me to start paying my child support again, so it hasn't been all bad.
The bottom line is: trucks are too slow, trips too short, office/service/dispatch
are in an adversarial position against the drivers. Not a good place to stay long or make any money.

I will say that the drivers I have met are good people just trying to feed their families and make a living wage.

 

Wow, I was happy untill I found this thread.. I'm a l/o at another big company.. And they've starved me out.. I am set up for orientation monday at fort smith as an experianced driver.. But I don't wanna come from a 09 w9 to a 2004 9400i piece of poop.. Can company drivers get t660s or 386s? Also the pay scale said I'd start at .34cpm.. I guess that's a lie too? Lastly.. Ill need a passport and twic and I'm guessing usa's against pets?

 

USA had a problem with a pet dog, but I'd get banned for telling.

 

I did my year with USA then ran like hell. Nothing posted here surprises me one bit. I can tell you I honestly hate this company and all others like it.

I know nothing about the other "starter companys", but if your looking to start driving and you choose USA, just know its going to be a long hard year. But keep your head up and screwed on straight and you'll make it. Not all truckin companies are like this, there's a good living with a good company to be had as soon as you pay your dues with these bottom feeders.

 

I appreciate your information, Interesting reading. The Truck Driver Industry is Inundated, Flooded, with Truck Drivers. That's what it's all about. And no Unity (Union). The Truck Driver Industry needs an enema.
In my humble opinion. Or perhaps One should consider another Vocation, or Technical Skill. This industry Sucks! (Organized Labor) is what we need, and I think regulation too like is use to be Thirty years ago. Especially Intermodal. "Well I must step off the soap box. Have a Safe and Happy 2010.... All shippers pay regulated rates, and all Trucking companies must charge regulated rates.

 

USA is phasing out the 9400's, you will most likely end up in a Prostar with a 10 speed auto, but you could end up in a T660. Seen a few Cascadias (rare) and 386's (rare). Be prepared to have to be sent to recover their truck and for it to be thrashed.
