Try Paul Transportation. They’re out of Tulsa, Oklahoma flatbed company.

They use to hire new students but on a limited basis.

Until this crap economy turns around...this is highly recommended unless you want to starve a lot of weeks.

Check with greyhound or other bus companies. I've been getting this advice a lot here lately.

In trucking, you can't always worry about the bad reviews, especially when you're starting out. Everyone is going to have a different story about Western Express. I started there in 2010, and it was bad reviews then as well. For some reason, I felt good about starting there. It turned out to be an ok experience. Had a good trainer, they kept me running, made pretty good money for a beginner. Eventually something better paying came up and I made a move. All I did at Western Express was keep my head down, learned how they do business, ran the miles without complaining, did what was asked of me. That's how I created a good experience for myself. You gotta get experience. Western may not be the place to retire at, but they hold value when it comes to getting drivers experience. They are a reputable company and easily verified.

I think majority of truckers won't be a good fit with bus companies. They prefer the solitude of being a solo driver on the open road.

Lol true, but thatd possibly be a good start. I'm considering it. Don't like the idea of #### chatty "cargo" myself. Still weighing my decisions. I'm still leaning towards Roehl or possibly Schneider. Yes, both have their good and bad points. Wioa will probably work better for me to be honest. They are asking for so much paperwork and I'm stuck waiting on my birth certificate (got lost during one of my many moving episodes). 6 to 10 weeks to get it back.
