    This approach was my instinct. If the client is at risk of losing the sale of this load over $750 in shipping cost, perhaps you two can split the difference.

    As a non-mechanic, it would seem to me that bypassing the compressor would be worth doing just to rule that possibility out. I can imagine myself going through an entire rebuild to fix a problem and then finding out that it was just the compressor.

    I agree . I will have to test that as well when I get back to the house . That's why I love this forum . Helps a guy think thru stuff and alot of smart folks on this thread

    I agree. Easy to do, and you can do it while checking everything else.

    If I'm getting pressure. While it's warming up, and after the compressor unloads at 120, with a pressure gauge on the radiator at zero, pump down the brakes to 90psi to load the compressor.

    See if radiator pressure rises with compressor cut in.

    Idk about that , you did some good work on that rebuild . From what ive read about some of the dealer mechanics you'd be the safer choice .
