Unsecured freight in a conestoga? No way somebody would ever do that.
-
It's that lazy mentality that the conestoga curtains will hold everything in. Recently here in Washington there was a conestoga that was full of lumber and no straps. At a stop light all the lumber came spilling off onto a car next to it killing the driver. It's no wonder insurance rates keep going up...

Yes, but if they did a good job. Those busses are full of used tires and concrete.
-
Used to load drywall out of CertainTeed in Seattle and watch curtain vans buckle their sides and take off.
Idaho and Oregon got on a kick back in the day and were making people open their sides so they could see the securement. -
There was a member on this forum a couple years back that said it was perfectly fine to haul palletizing freight in a Conestoga with no securement. Said he had been doing it for years without a problem !
-
I do not agree. But the amount of metal. Skidded, slit, palletized that moved in a sidekit or Conestoga between Pittsburgh and Cleveland to Detroit would upset you. Again. I'm not saying that it's ok.. But it's the world we live in.Nostalgic, OldeSkool, exhausted379 and 9 others Thank this.
