So where is the hiring area, it doesn't say on their website, they look pretty organized to me besides that part of their website.

Yes, EPES acquired Scales Express early this year. They also own Texas Star Express. We handle a lot of Lowes and Home Depot freight. Mostly drop and hook.longbedGTs said: ↑I delivered to the Valdosta, GA Lowes DC a few days ago and saw an EPES truck pulling a Scales trailer out of the Scales Terminal directly across from Lowes DC. There were EPES bobtail parked in the Scales terminal as well as one TExas Express truck and trailer.
Does EPES own any stake in Scales Express out of Tifton, GA? Or vise-versa..Click to expand...bluv37 Thanks this. -
Charliewayne said: ↑Hey Charlie thanks for the info, I live in the northern KY area (Radcliff) so hopefully I'm in the hiring area, thanks again!bluv37 said: ↑EPES main terminal is in Greensboro, NC. That is where they hold orientation. However, other terminals include Morristown, Tn; Chester (Richmond), Va; and Elm City (Rocky Mount), NC. Their recent purchase of Scales Express in Valdosta, Ga gives us a new terminal there as well. Most anywhere east of the Mississippi or especially Va. or the Carolinas is their ideal hiring areas. Call Larry and tell him where you live and he will tell you if you're in one of their hiring areasClick to expand...Click to expand...Last edited by a moderator: Apr 17, 2010

Well I called the recruiter today, and she said that they don't hire out of KY or TN, that's funny because I know they have a terminal in TN, but hopefully she is wrong. And that information isn't on their website, well it is but it doesn't show a map of the hiring area, well might have to move to NC...lol

That is odd as we do have a terminal in Morristown. Maybe she meant to say they werent hiring any more Tn domiciled drivers at this time.

I will call them back next week and ask more detail questions, thanks Charliewayne!Charliewayne said: ↑That is odd as we do have a terminal in Morristown. Maybe she meant to say they werent hiring any more Tn domiciled drivers at this time.Click to expand...

I know they are hiring students out of Richmond, Va. A recruiter is coming to my CDL school next week. The company seems great from what I have researched. Weekends off and a terminal only a few miles from my home is a big plus!

Yes, we have a lot of freight out of the Richmond area and a nice terminal in Chester to boot. From the paper companies & Phillip Morris in Richmond, to Anheiser Busch in Williamsburg to any number of cities and towns along the I-95 corridor in Va and NC. That area will never be at a loss for freight with EPES. I'm generally thru Chester several times a week-and I live in Ga!
