A small slice of humble pie is important once in a while, it prevents the really bad mistakes. I'm glad it's not a big deal. Ice is no joke.
Take note, driving on ice is serious stuff!

Seriously though, thankful nothing but your pride is hurt. It happens.
Happened to me in '21, but quite a bit worse. Had a new truck with 65k miles on it, guy pulled out in front of me and stopped. I was bobtailing home, couldn't get stopped and T-boned him. He was mostly unharmed, other than the cut above his eye that he sued over. Our insurance company came out swinging, but eventually rolled over and died. They cut the guy that caused the mess a $75k check to go away. My boss was really cool about the whole ordeal, and never held it against me.
Needless to say, my ego took a big hit after that. 20 years with only one other very minor incident that was totally my fault, and that happened. But, I learned a lesson through it all. And I dont take anything for granted anymore. The memory of seeing the point of impact, the look on his face as I hit, and the sound of the metal crunching, is enough to keep me grounded these days.
Again, glad you're okD.Tibbitt, LTL Bull, Concorde and 1 other person Thank this. -
Looks like the ditches fault to me!

I'm sure by now it's old news and you're on to the next dilemma, but I can only assume you were empty, as loaded may not have slid, and damage would be much worse. Since we may have a ways to go, you might want to get a bag of ice melt, and throw it in the sleeper storage, I know, a couple bucks, but could possibly prevent this from happening again. Again, experience dictates, and we've all been there.
Btw, the truck looks nice,, love them KWhoppers! -

I hate doctors as well and when I rolled my truck I didn't get checked out at all because i felt fine, until the next day I had a raging headache and really dizzy and sore body. I had the other driver I used to run with take me to the doctor and I ended up with a concussion from smacking my head on the roof of the truck because I didn't have my seat belt on either.
Hope u get to feeling betterhope not dumb twucker, Sirscrapntruckalot, Concorde and 2 others Thank this. -
Ouch
my condolences
but like the rest, thank your lucky stars it wasnt worse
would say if boss isnt going to retire that truck, have a good frame shop check your frame and alignment, looks like you were trying to turn but the ice had other ideas and you went straight? If so have them double and triple check all the front shackles and alignment there toohope not dumb twucker, D.Tibbitt and Concorde Thank this.
