Would/could anyone comment on their experiences/observations about Matheson Tri Gas? Good place to start in cryo -- or not?
If not -- why not?
Thanks!

We have in the past loaded there when we are down and around 10 yrs ago I did a week loading there for Iowa customers.
A smaller player,Japanese owned, and that particular plant uses a NE contractor for there accounts (Fitch) I believe.
They load at our place on occasion too.
We had a guy about a dozen years ago go down to Phoenix and work at a new plant there.
#1 driver and seemed pretty happy but said pay was lagging comparatively.
Haven't spoke with him in a while though.
Better place to get cryo experience than a contractor IMHO -
In Texas they run what seems really old equipment. All Internationals. One year our plant was down so we had to load at competitors. Matheson was the worst loading rack I had ever been to. Couldn't get anyone to help me load because drivers were so stressed out about getting their loads done and couldn't waste time loading me. Their policy is if they start you they have to stay and finish loading you. They can't pass you to another Matheson employee.
Overall they just seemed really stressed out like if they were being pushed and rushed.lual Thanks this. -

Those of you on the Linde Mothership, How do you transfer to different linde location? Is it an internal move, or do you have to apply online and proceed like you would as a new hire? I'm having serious reservations about this barn. Our equipment is barely functioning and we are hardly getting 40 hours a week. we have 2 nitrogen trucks (out of 3. 1 is down and another trailer is leaking nitrogen in 3 places) and 3 oxygen trailers for 7 drivers. We hardly do oxygen, becasue our product is ultra pure, and the companies we built the plant to serve, now have their own facilities. Funny enough, people dont want to pay for ultra pure, is they dont need ultra pure. They only hired me, becasue we were supposed to get all this extra work.......we dont have it. We dont know when we are going to get it(They were supposed to get it last year. So I'm looking at other linde barns in other states to possibly go to. I've been in Oregon 5 years and I dont see the real estate market here getting any better. Id really rather not have to buy a $450k first home at 52 if I can avoid it. I even thought about just working at the plant in White city, Oregon and just not drive anymore, as the cost of living is alittle lower down there.
I know I could ask my boss, but I'd rather keep this on the down low for a little bit and get as much research and prep in as I can before I have a sit down with himDennixx, Rugerfan and viper822004 Thank this. -

Where you get the particulars and a feel for operations.
A external transfer would be resigning then applying at desired location.
Either way your supervisor would be contacted.
We've had a few transfer to Florida and one even returned after a year plus and is back to work at our plant.
Kept his Linde seniority but lost plant seniority.
Everyone's slow but winter here keeps us over 50 hrs at least.
Best of luck if you decide to relocatescythe08 and viper822004 Thank this.
