Seems your feelings/outlook with Stevens has changed lately. I have always enjoyed your posts but am starting to get a little worried.
-
It has been a month of changes, Dallas not knowing what is going on, keeping the drivers in the dark, and a lot of misinformation. Partly dealing with a new driver manager who I am trying to train to my way of doing things. She is starting to come around.
Set for a day and 1/2 in California because stevens had NO freight. They know how many trucks are going in, and how many loads they need coming out. some snafu happened, and I got to set along with many other drivers.
Trucking is up and down, good and bad, and you will here about both from me.Barracuda905 and bigdognyc Thank this. -
Well it seems that my trainer's and my screaming may have gotten us somewhere. We are still under a load to Ft Worth but are setting up in OH for a repower to UT. We shall see how this goes.
-
Oh yea now I'm sitting in OH waiting for mythical repower in a thunderstorm. woo hoo can life get better.
-
I got home today and will leave in the morning. We just had a big thunderstorm and hail. I am in Marengo Ohio. -
Here I sit in Amarillo, TX patiently waiting waiting for my load to be ready at the meatpatch.
Since I have been on grad/pre-alliance fleet I have delivered 3 loads. The two days of waiting in CA really hurt because I received 0 miles for those days. Other than that I have been steadily moving.
My only real complaint so far is that I have not been assigned a load that is taking me home. I need to get to the house to get some supplies I need to make life easier out here on the road. -
Did a repower of a load that had to be in Phoenix this morning after my delivery in Los Lunas. no problem, and the other truck arrived mid afternoon sunday. He was a senior driver and has had my DM for the last 3 years. He loves her, as he gets what he wants, when he wants it. his words. It was a kraft load that he picked up in Chicago. He does not run the west, and stays in the Mideast. He also has an ungoverned truck, so he was able to get to Albuquerque quickly.
Made my delivery, took them 3 hours to unload me, get a call can I go over to Avondale and repower a load that is going to Casa Grande to wal mart by 11am. Nope, can't make 11 am, it is now 9:45. After about an hour of discussions, the appointment at walmart was changed to 27th 03:15. They were going to let the other driver keep it then, but then Safety put him on Safety hold for violating his 14 hours. He told me they were watching him. So I took the load, drove the 60 miles down to Casa Grande, and will make the delivery in the wee morning hours again. Then I head to HEB in san antonio...any one want a thursday Delivery????? Better than setting in Yuma for 2 days waiting to get loaded, I think.
It was nice to meet baracuda in person, and have lunch together.
I am seeing a trend though, getting home, getting the training regions, all seem to be LOW priority. I am trying to get to the yard before I am put on Safety Hold for being out more than 100 days without a safety talk. Maybe from San Antonio I can get something (laredo) to take to the yard.
I sure would like to have a spy fly on the wall, so I knew what is going on in dallas -
O.K. my trainer and a dispatcher put their heads together last night and got a plan to finish all I need in one run. Beverly approved it and the load picks up in the morning. If all goes well I will have everything done by Friday!!!

Thats awesome - you're much more patient that I would have been. Just hope the same doesnt happen to me too!
