This looks like the landing gear collapsed upon touching down

Delta isn’t releasing the names of the pilots. I wonder why.

Delta still not releasing the flight crew information. No names or how experienced (IN TYPE) they were. All the pilots who see this understand my point about what (IN TYPE) means. Look at the DC crash. Within 24 hours the names of the American Eagle crew were released. I'm not insinuating anything, far from it. I am saying when this information is not released it starts to look bad.

Delta doesn't release the names until the investigating body allows that release.

In the US, the NTSB controls the investigation and the release of data. They tell the airline when they can release information. Doing otherwise can get a party (FAA, airline, crew unions, airplane manufacturer, engine manufacturer, etc.) thrown off of the investigation. The NTSB is much more open to releasing information as it becomes available.

In Canada, the TSB controls the investigation. The same basic rules apply, but the TSA is MUCH more restrictive and harder to deal with when comes to saying anything about the accident or the investigation.

Also, these YouTube "investigators" always jump the gun. Once we hear the CVR and analyze the FDR along with material analyses, then we can start to form an opinion about what actually happened.

For reference, I am an investigator, have attended several accident investigation schools and have worked two accidents and several incidents in the last 10 years.

Here's the problem. It is clear this accident happened in another country. So the investigation will be handled by that country. Releasing the names of the flight crew in no way harms the investigation or in my opinion the (right) to privacy. Since there were no deaths there are no next-of-kin notifications to wait for. The longer the Canadian authorities and Delta wait to release those names and their experience the more people are going to jump to conclusions all over social media. If there is nothing to any of this why not go on ahead and get ahead of it and release those names?

You have to have been living on a deserted island over these past few months to not understand DEI has been the topic of social media speculation. This situation was exacerbated when the Army waited for days to release Capt. Rebecca Lobach's name and then we learned her social media reportedly was scrubbed! When you delay things like this you give these so-called YouTube investigators ammo.

I'm sorry, but if those names are not released soon and we later learn there is even the smell of DEI involved, all hell is going to erupt. I rather this not happen. I generally stay out of politically charged subjects. This is why I don't post in the politics forums. I am just coming from a position of common sense. Don't feed the conspiracy nuts if there is nothing there. And lastly, I hope there is nothing there. Because that one video is getting traction, that aircraft did not even attempt to flare, it just slammed into the runway so hard it broke the landing gear. If the Canadian authorities can't find a good reason for this, it is not going to go well for the pilot flying regardless of their experience.

Looking back at that it doesn’t look like there wasn’t that much flare on the landing prior to touchdown.
The way the plane crashed reminds me of this particular accident.

I watched this video earlier as well as the one linked to below. Nothing official has been released. We need to stay calm and let the investigation play out.
