If the sensor is a plug with prongs or w.e... take some wire or paper clip put it in the sensor plug tape it up an that will be last of your worries.. I did that with my coolant sensor put a metal wire from one to other hole then I taped it till I got it home but if I didn't want to fix It I could of left it

Maniaq, what do you mean by f/c? So you are sure that I should be OK with this until next oil change?

the oil-level sensor on volvos made before (i think) september 2013 can transmit oil into the ECM and make the engine shut off. see pdf. I'm guessing as of this writing the harness splice discussed in the bulletin was replaced with the simpler part no. 22205127.

Here I am in February 2025 and this should help me diagnose the PFP quick.

I have verified I had 5v/ref and ground then noticed I was losing my power wire voltage when it was connected to the sensor (hence the FMI 5 - high current/open circuit). The connector is old and oil saturated. I removed the battery cables, disconnected the ECM connectors, and traced the wires to individually load test the 5v/ref "green" wire. I thought I might've had a faulty ECM output, but this cleared everything up. Now, I just need to get back to the unit and verify the PFP. Thank you again, dbny5000. There was a huge list of people responding with ignorance and you came in and saved the day!
