Whats the real deal with Tyson? My understanding is that they are not a bad outfit to pull for. IF I get laid off my Federal job, I was looking at going to them. Granted I haven't pulled reefer since 03, but I did pull flats 7 years ago. Now my back will make it harder to go back to flats
Pigdude Thanks this. -
They’re not a bad company. They pay well, and their benefits are great. I left because there was way too much big brother stuff going on. If you don’t mind being treated like a new driver, and constantly micro managed, you can do well there. It just didn’t work for me. Best of luck wherever you land!hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

Thanks man. I hope it dont come to this, but thought I would explore my options. If I did get laid off, I could go somewhere else in my field as a government contractor, but I dont want to go that route. I'd go back to trucking first. Problem is finding a decent company.

There are some decent deals out there. You have to build a reputation and network with the right people so they will call you when something good is available. And sometimes you take less than ideal for a year just to pay the bills and the good one opens later. Be humble and don't go to battle stations every time you roll into the terminal. Be the guy they don't mind dealing with, but don't be a door mat they like wiping their feet on. It will get better, may not be next week but it will usually be when you don't expect it.
northstarfire0693 and asphaltreptile311 Thank this. -
