I think im done with CB.

My thoughts on this are...What would be the point of having a radio of you aren't gonna get reports on road conditions or be able to talk to other trucks around you?
That was the whole point behind putting radios in trucks anyway...Way back when.

I keep the gain down a bit and the squelch up a bit and I only hear the idiots when they are real close and they usually fade away pretty fast.
The CB has done me more good than harm overall and if there are morons nearby I can always reach over and turn it down for a few minutes.
Ham is essentially useless in a truck...

 

Your right but you would also be shocked to know how many drivers are ham ops!

CB is cheap, easy and serves the purpose...without all the BS of getting a ticket and then finding out that there are as many a--holes on ham bands as on CB bands.

Not that there are a few stupid HAMs but in general it's not as bad.

 

We used to use 21 a lot but I forget exactly where.My point earlier when someone is getting info they should go to another channel five or more channels away from 19 to get the info.They will not be walked on nor will they bleed into 19.Just common sense.

 

I hear on just about all bands...lol.Example, tune 14272 KHz +/-. most afternoons it sounds worse than 27.185 MHz at the tackiest truckstops.

I feel you brother.....and not so much because of the "idiots" on the CB but more the less because there's really no one to talk to on the CB anymore. In fact I'm selling off pretty much all my CB gear...which is my 108 whip with the magnet mount, and my SS158EDX sideband radio and perhaps even my 31 year old unmodded Cobra 21 radio.

Besides ignorance is everywhere, not just on CB....heck look at some of the internet chat boards and the crap that is spewed...not much differently than the CB.
