This. If you're low on the totem pole you might be truck 3 from present terminal to next terminal. Might sit just short of the layover time and get a short run. They avoid paying layover, you get garbage.

Appreciate the info guys. I'm a team driver at OD and we never sit, but that's because we have a bid run. And you guys are right. Contractors will definitely take a back seat to drivers employed by TForce. Means I'll get the scraps in a freight market that's still got too many trucks and not enough freight.
Considering what I learned leasing with Schneider, I figured I'd have fun and be profitable trying the owner operator thing again. But if I end up making less than I do now, it's not gonna be fun for me. Think I'll stick with my company gig. The occasional breakdown is stressful but not too bad if the tow is free.Old_n_gray Thanks this. -
I’ve been at this for over 30 years, never drawn a paycheck since I was 18 from a company that wasn’t associated with some form of trucking and I still can’t justify the risk/reward in this market: I think that is a wise choice, your excess money would be better off in a dividend oriented mutual fundplynnjr92 and Old_n_gray Thank this.

Ups freight was running this operation before tforce take over, the reason we join ups freight as a owner operator light loads drop and hook terminal to terminal 2500 miles a week for solo driver after deduction we were making 1.20 per miles they pay for pretty much everything, loded and empty miles were same ,now with tforce heavy loads less miles they trying to give u heavy broker loads and top of that they cut down the pay rates, they are charging for tag administration and all other stuff ,on there terminals they treat us like a S , empty miles cut down to .80cpm after deduction 1.05 cpm depending on loads mostly y r taking 1$ a mile with them alot of owner apps are left already we are also planning to move somewhere else ,hope for best and wish u luckdosgatos Thanks this.
