Tell me about it. Nestle gets their panties in a bunch if you can't haul 46K. Oh well too bad!
Didn't we used to have a weight limit of 72,000 or something like that in the old days.
It's just like hours of service, the customers have to be educated as to what is doable. Sometimes you have to tell them "NO!".

Just a tad off subject, but, when I married #4, our Limo driver was idling (gas engine) and I asked him why. It was a nice day In s.Ca. in December. He said the owner told him never shut it off, ever. Go figure.

Problem is, too many super carriers out there willing to lighten up and run throw away trucks to accommodate the weight.truckerdave1970 Thanks this.

You a Landstar O/O wannabe??

Gawd you should hear some of those cry babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once in TX there was a whole group of us loading 40' containers. Some of the "old timers" would beech about hauling more than 35K. Made the shipper pull out a few items before loading. By the time it was my turn the shipper assumed I was a spoiled little kid and was worrying about what they were going to have to take off to load me and then would have to order another truck to haul all the left overs.
Like the man that I am I told em to load up the parts on the ground and close the doors of that container and lets get this show on the road. Boy they sure liked me since I was the last truck to load and they weren't going to need another truck.
Yeah there is no need in hauling extra weight for free, but if I remember right I was getting a good rate and didn't want to look like the last dick in a line of dicks.Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
When I have hauled the military loads...there are quite a few 120" condo's pulling steps...Now I know they can't haul 48K net even when the tanks are empty......
Most of them haul 2 or 3 Hummers...and that's a "load"......The Challenger Thanks this. -
T/D perhaps you should read the link before responding. That way you won't seem so foolish.
