I once was on a reset in that same Sinclair parking lot. They didn't have any food so I walked to the Sunset Grill and chose a booth facing the wall. I was watching for any drifters who intended me harm.

I ate light to keep my mind focused and sharp. The waitress, middle aged and worn down from life, asked where I was from. "Estados Unidos" I replied, she glared at me and said we don't take pesos. Some people aren't multilingual I guess.

I left the restaurant and headed back, my wits sharper than my old timer knife in my pants pocket. The closer I got to Sinclair the more my nerves were on edge. I saw a dark shadowy figure in the parking lot.

I had to decide if this was an Alabama 10 (think obese Glamour shots type) or the thing nightmares are made of. My right hand steady on my pistol, just in case I cracked the shadowy figure with my bull whip.

To my surprise I heard a metallic clang and figured it must be a midevial warrior in full armor. It turns out it was just the metal bison statue by the highway. If I had to do it all over, I wouldnt change a thing.
