Speaking of gasket sealant...I went to the parts house recently looking for what used to be called Indian Head Gasket Shellac. Not anymore. The Indian is gone, now it's just called gasket shellac compound.
I guess the Indian went to wherever Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben went

It's just how it is, wherever I go I'm just the guy with the pink truck. When the light hits it right, some color blind fool will call it orange & I'll smile & go with it..
My #1 line of defense is "the glove box says tan, black, white as the 3 paint codes"
The fun part is running round here in Nebraska. Put'n fuel on 2 weeks ago & a 379 driver recognized her from the Wheeler Transport days when she was new in the mid '90's. Claimed they even had some COE's paint up like this so now I'm really on the lookout.. -

You know, I never made the connection or noticed really because it looked and smelled the same. Was it a Permatex company under the Indian name before or did Permatex buy it and do away with the iconic name? The only thing I've ever used it for is freeze plugs.

I think it's always been a Permatex product. Just wasn't newsworthy when they changed like everything else
