I was wondering if anyone knew anything of Halo Transport? I'm thinking about driving for them out of the midwestern region OTR.

I am driving for them now but they're a small TL outfit in Grand Rapids, MI. I'm an independent contractor which I imagine means I have to pay my own ss match and will get a 1099 at close of the year. Good place to get experience though their equipment is aged. My 2004 Freightliner has almost a half mil. miles. No cruise, no jake, and leaks oil like a sieve. Grateful to have the oportunity though because having experience & a clean record is only way to get a better seat.

Halo Transport, A&S Lines, or A&S Logistics are bad, bad news!!
They're in Grand Rapids, MI and it's dangerous to work for these guys: Adi and Sado Jelovac. They don't maintain their equipment, they'll screw you out of pay that's owed. I could go on w/ more precise description but I'll tell you that it's a dangerous thing to try working for these criminals. I've seen them break the DOT regulations.Last edited: Jan 5, 2010

Wow, it's been four months since you started with them. Seems like a long time driving such crappy equipment and not being paid properly...So what are the other drivers doing? Are they still putting their lives in danger with crappy pay?

Hopefully you are still not working there if there are so many problems. I know you said you were taking the position as a stepping stone to a better seat, but sometimes it isn't worth the risk.

No, I'm out of there. I'm going to get my own authority and start driving for myself this year. At least, that's the plan. Those guys at Halo are out of control. They have 3 DOT numbers:
538397 A&S Brokerage Corp
499962 A&S Lines
558861 A&S Logistics
My truck was a Century Class S/T
VIN M73152
USDOT 1869796
MC 675619

You can notice in above pic of my truck that there's a massive oil leak somewhere under the hood and the excess oil is blowing out over the passenger side of cab. I drove the truck for three months & about 35,000 miles. There was no, I mean no, maintenance or work done on it other than what I initiated and paid for. I was not reimbursed for my expenses either although the receipts for work done in shops was submitted to Adi Jelovac. Sado and Adi Jelovac are not honest, they have no integrity, no honor in this country where they have been accepted and loaned money by our government through the SBA. Furthermore, in my opinion, they constitute a threat to the safety of the traveling public.
