The "curtain" I have in my truck is zipper it's always closed it just drives me nuts to see crap like this. Earlier in the week I was pulling into our drop point and when I start to turn the corner I always just turn off my lights, one of the company drivers was leaving and he clicks his brights at me and I stopped and opened my door and asked him WTF he wanted, he said your lights are off, the flip flops wearer said your lights are off, I told him I turn them off out courtesy for the security guard, the look he gave me after that just left me in utter disbelief, he couldn't understand why I would give someone the common courtesy of not completely blinding him with my bright ### lights. The security guard told me he always pulls in with his brights on basically blinding him when he pulls in. Me personally I would kick his ### for that but the security guard is in his mid 60's and doesn't want the conflict with a company guy.

I am at the DC for bobcat every day, they have a policy where they won't give someone advice on how to secure at the DC, it is mind boggling to me the crap they allow to leave that place because they are afraid to tell them to do it right, I have argued with them that they are hurting the company image by allowing this crap, machines "secured" with straps over the top of them but they don't want confrontation. Also argued with them that allowing welfare express and the likes to load there machines hurts company image, but it all falls on deaf ears, once it's out of the DC and signed for they assume it's out of their handsFriend, singlescrewshaker, cke and 11 others Thank this.

Actually final assembly on those are Wisconsin I believe, depending on model, engines and all that crap are more than likely Korea, but still way better than China. Alot of the parts are also north America, that's how they get around saying US but the majority of parts are moving to U.S. partsFriend, singlescrewshaker, cke and 11 others Thank this.

you can pack socks, jocks and t-shirts in these as well as a sandwich, a light tool wrap and a small fuel bottle. Enough for a weekend in a motel in golden both ways to your parents placeLast edited: Mar 28, 2025

I agree . I have just gone home when I was working for myself. One time i was 2 hours short. Just unplugged the elog and carried on. Of course i Got audited and they pulled that months of log books. the auditor asked me about the unclaimed miles on the log from that day. Sorry don't remember probably an eld malfunction they happen all the time. oh OK... lol told me just be more careful next time.. pretty sure he knew. but I had all my #### in order and I think he let me slide on that one.
Safety guy with this company says anything over 10 min violation is instant termination.. I don't even test it... couple guys got fired for unplugging eld or logging PC to continue their trip. No warning, just bye bye find another job.. which I get it, lots of liability towards the company if something happens in that illegal timeframe. couple times I got stranded 30 miles from the house.. whatever, go to sleep get home in the morning, not the end of the world I guess.. just annoyingFriend, singlescrewshaker, cke and 9 others Thank this. -
I have a plain set of saddlebags like that and they don't really fit the bike very well. Super handy though. My buddy and I did a tour of the Shuswap and North Okanagan last spring, I could fit some basic tools and a snack in there, along with a litre of fuel in each bag.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 6 others Thank this.

I should have taken more pics. First time I pulled Acert twin turbos from a C13 Cat in a RD Mack. Yes I said Mack. What a mess.

I was told it was due to liability in my situation. If I told the driver how to secure the load and something happened then we could possibly be held partially liable. I did help them out now and then, mostly with just pointing out the securement points and whether or not to use straps or chains.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 6 others Thank this.
