I love the vintage bikes. I've been a member of the CVMG for nearly 2 years already. Some days though it'd be nice to have something new enough where you can just turn the key and ride, not having to worry about all the maintenance and adjustments required to keep an old bike rideable.

Gave the 'hood some Nazareth this morning. Sounds a bit off though, I have suspicions that Manny Charlton detuned very slightly for this track. Notes don't harmonize quite like they should. Going to play around with tuning a bit and see what happens.

Maybe I'm not being clear enough. Im talking about a specific situation where your next money load is already booked. That okc load was an example of what I consider a good back haul in that situation. Last fall I was running twice a week from Oklahoma down nearish to Brownwood Texas. So this load would not mess up or delay my money load. And I would be at both points anyway. I can't see the logic that says I'd make more money going back empty than grabbing this load for the 750 or whatever it was posted as. Especially when you consider i know the shipper and the agent postng the load so I know what to expect and can get all the pertinent information ahead of committing.

Now if I didnt have that next money load lined up, it competely changes the formula of how I decide if this is a load worth hauling or not. In that case I'm calling the agent I work with up in oklahoma to see what he's got going on and using that info to decide if I take this one or not. If he tells me he is gonna have a good one the next day or even the following day, I'm gonna take it. If he tells me he already has trucks lined up for those manufacturers that pay good up there, or that they are slow and not giving him a lot of loads, I'm gonna pass. OK city is not a good spot to be relying on spot market freight.

Working with the same people all the time takes out a lot of the risks that comes with these back hauls and allies me to make better informed decisions.

I've been on eld now for almost 10 years. With the changes to hos that allow us to split log again, changing pc rules, and changing the 30 minute off duty break, they really aren't that bad. It's extremely rare to get into a situation that they get in the way, and I'm those cases I just go over hours. No one cares unless it's on a regular basis.

You are reminding me how #### old i am. It used to be standard practice to turn your head lights off when pulling up to a guard shall or pulling in to a truck stop so as not to blind anyone or keep drivers from being able to sleep. Now half these 'drivers' won't even turn them off when they park for the night.

If i ever decide to off myself, before I do I'm gonna go to every truck stop in the area and bust out the headlights on all those inconsiderate a55holes.
