I would like to preface by saying I am not an engineer nor do I really know #### from wild honey about emissions engines
Years ago we learned that JWAC was better than just running the turbo outlet into the intake. Then years after that we figured out that running the turbo outlet through a CAC was even better than a JWAC. So now they decide that putting a small amount of exhaust through the intake through a cooler being cooled by engine coolant after the CAC is a better idea. So they up compression to get it to burn. They are reburning the exhaust to fool the test no other reason. They also advertise running the engine lower and any of us no matter the color of the engine know they pull better sound better a little higher. As a guy that’s tore down a couple here and there I can tell you the lower bores are always in better shape if ran by the same driver that isn’t afraid to twist one a bit. I have friends that swear over 1500 will kill an E model and they have alot of trouble. I feel that lugging one regardless of what the manufacturer says contributes to dropped liners and extreme lower bore wear. That’s about the extent of my take I’m willing to share.broke down plumber, beastr123, exhausted379 and 20 others Thank this. -
It over 100 years old and crystal. My exwife is mad that she doesn't have it. I figure it really brings the shop together.Friend, broke down plumber, exhausted379 and 15 others Thank this.

I put the batteries in the T800 project turned the master on and didn't have to call the fire department. Getting closer.

It’s some of all of it. Soot has led to more carbon packing. Which isn’t good. Trucks are running more boost which creates massive head pressures. Egr is supposed to cool the combustion to allow for a longer burn in order to burn more nox. But a cooler burn creates more soot. A cooler burn also decreases cylinder pressure. Which is why demandating an engine generally leads to a blown head gasket. Too much head pressure. Then you have the issue of down speeding which is lugging which causes extra crank pressure and it also causes harmonic vibrations which tend to make the liner move in the bore. That leads to counter bore issues.
So yes in short, it’s all due to emissions. You solve one problem and create two more.broke down plumber, exhausted379, Gatordude and 15 others Thank this.
