Agreed, yet we can never explain this. In short we had efficient million plus mile engines from every manufacturer. Now we have little increase in fuel efficiency, demand for more natural resources to build trucks that cost 3 times as much and last a shorter time. But F:,$* the exhaust is cleaner. Don't even ask me about the EV cars. I don't feel like typing it.

My neighbor has a newer Kubota tractor. The thing is a total POS, totally worthless IMO. You have to run it on rabbit all the time to keep the emissions system from going haywire. I can hear him when he's running around sounds like a beehive out there. He has problems with it all the time, on to the trailer 75 miles one way to the dealer.
I'll keep my '70's Deere. Starts every time. Putt putt putt away I go.

Well that’s the catch 22 on these emissions engines. If you want them to last you have to work the dog #### out of them. And when you do that you get worse fuel mileage than a late 90’s engine. So is it really a benefit??? I think that’s what James was hitting on. It’s feel good technology

They will build 5 tractors to replace the work your JD is still doing. Don't it feel great to help the pollution?
