I never make right turns, only lefts. Much safer that way.

The problem is one of vocabulary.

What you're calling a jug handle, I and Schneider call a button hook. What you're calling a button hook, I would call squaring off.

 

To be honest, Armstrong steering wasn't that hard when the truck is rolling. Just sitting there, it was work!

 

Wow. I never heard such a bickering over making a right hand turn. Now we have buttonhooks, and jughandles and squaring off...what is this madness y'all speak of? Just drive the #### truck. Do what you gotta do and do it safely. It ain't rocket surgery.

I try to avoid tight right hand turns, but guess what? I still have to make them! I do it daily! Sometimes I even impress myself, other times I look like a rookie. But I don't lay awake thinking about it, either

Excellent. 3 left turns make a right turn.

 

I'm reasonably sure that when I got my chauffeur's license in 1980 that buttonhook and jug handle were not in the manual. Also, power steering was not as common as it is today. And now, I am ashamed of myself for reading as much of this thread as I have!
