I am still looking for a bit of info from some current drivers if ya dont mind. How are the miles lately? what kind of checks do the miles equal? Any help would be appreciated. I graduate from school the 12th and would like some current data before I make a decision. Thanks, Chris(Gator)

Hi Gator.. I am still fairly new but will try and give you some realistic stats. One thing to note is the past couple months have been plagued with relentless bad weather that directly impacted my weeks. I am out based out of the Charlotte area so run the NE alot.. VA, WV, OH, PA, NJ, MD, NY.. not easy driving, either in mountains or in high congestion areas 90% of the time.

My gross for the past few months per week is usually only 500-600.. much lower then I expected. And its not for a lack of effort. Freight rates are still very low.

I think I only sat without a load one time. I don't sit much except for waiting to get loaded and although been detained for as much as 10 hours, have never seen a cent of detention pay.

I suspect things for you might be a bit better given we are heading into the busy season and weather will not be as much a factor.

Bottom line from MY experience so far (others my be better/worse) ... expect to work 14-16 plus hours a days for what breaks down to about 8 bucks an hour. Hope it gets better.

    Good Luck

    Anuuub,
Thanks a bunch for the reply. To be honest, I was hoping for better news. :( I think I am gonna give KLLM a shot and see how things go with them. I dont mind the work at all, but it would seem they are getting more miles at the time being refer driven. I hope things pick up for you guys. TMC has been one of my hopefuls and I was really looking forward to their training. Who knows, maybe i'll still end up there. Maybe we will cross paths out.
    Best of luck,
    Gator

Well, after all my research since my last post i am thinking I was wrong. I did a pros and cons sheet and TMC keeps rising to the top. Everyone who posts for the company seems upfront and I can deal with everything you all have posted. I take my CDL test in the morning and should get through fine. Hopefully after that I'll be reporting on my orientation date :)
