Would the same thing apply to a 92U Cat head? I'll be sending my head to the machine shop soon for a rebuild and may as well have that done if it applies to it as well.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I honestly don't know. Yours is direct injection not pre-cup isn't it? Not sure if that matters either.

Pre-cup. I don't think it's worth converting, Cat wants far too much for a new head.

The thing about doing it on a JWAC is where you hook the loop hose at left rear of block is also where your cooler returns so…..no where to put really

I think you are going to have to be a bit more specific. I see by your videos that you are rebuilding your B model; are you going stock or something else?

Been a secondary project as of late. Finished the valvetrain today, decided to install a new bigger oil cooler that should be in right away. Hopefully fire it up next week and give it a good break in. It has C346B jakes on it. My book didn't have the lash specs, all I could find were to set them at 70 thou hope that works. I had to flat sand the exhaust bridges down to min thickness spec to get the dimples out.

Also have to fab up an oil cooler for the rtlo18919 tranny we swapped in. Pinned timed it with holes both lined up (no "half mooning") after taking up Slack in the gears. Hopefully that's good enough until we manage to get it meter timed.

Been waiting for a load to line up to break it in, but did take it for a quick spin.

No haze at idle, let's a bit of coal out when you lay into it but cleans up quick. Idles nice and smooth. Boost comes on pretty fast and most I could load it up bobtailing (18th at 1200 and hit wot) was pulling 30psi boost and under 900F Pyro. Maybe slight haze under full throttle. Hope to see what it does with a load soon. Had a 1.32 78mm turbo on before rebuild and boost was sbout 35psi and Pyro 950F max.

Oil pressure at hot idle is about 43psi, while driving its 80psi+ hot which is much higher then before. Cold idle 83psi. Not sure with the upgraded spring in the pump and dual oilers it's supposed to be that high? Running JD 15-40.
