"At times in town there’s far more Massachusetts tags than New Hampshire tags on the cars."
No sales tax in NH but there is in MA. I used to know someone up there and we, like a lot of other people, crossed the state line to shop. Needed new tires on the car, went to NH to save the sales tax.
New to this all!

I live quite a ways north of the state line, I think it’s mostly tourists up here. I actually like most the people from Mass that I meet. A lot of really nice families from there come up to ski and hike.MidwestResident and JB7 Thank this.

Reminds me of a wet county next to a dry county. Right on the county line, a thriving liquor store doing big business ! And mostly the customers are from the dry county.MidwestResident, The_vett, OldeSkool and 1 other person Thank this.

The trucking industry is not a place for dilatants. If you actually had experience, you could take temp placement, but I can assure you that nobody will want to pay to train a guy who just wants to occasionally "play truckdriver".

The OP made his post almost 2 weeks ago and hasn't been back on here since.
TheBeesBreeze and MidwestResident Thank this. -
Isn't that the truth?
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round. -
All we have in South Dakota is sales tax (and property tax and vehicle registration and on and on) ... I get the gist of the post, but just FYI: it could be a lot worse here.
