Trying to arm myself with info before calling for service again. Any ideas what could be? What should I check and look for? Any help is appreciated!

Power goes way down. Engine runs loud and whiney and shakey. Only up to 10 on the tach.
First time it happened it stalled out. Limped to safety at 45 mph. Codes cleared while waiting for tow. Dealer couldn't see codes or recreate. Ran fine. Weeks later, today, enginge lunched went out of gear with same codes. Power cycle. Codes still there limp to truck stop wait and codes cleared. Ran fine. Ending day engine brake for exit check light lurch turned Jake's off and ran fine.
