What I like is these weather resistant crimp connectors with heat shrink on them. Guess some people forget about the tang on the crimps piercing the coating when you crimp it on the wire leaving a damaged spot for moisture to enter….

 

350 or 290 with a #5 button in the pump, or maybe they got wild and put a #00 button in it…..

 

Need to use the correct tool. There are ones for insulated and non-insulated connectors. The non insulated have the triangular shaped tooth that will pierce the insulation. Then the ones for the insulated have a larger flatter tooth that flattens the connector when crimping. There are the newer low heat solder type connectors that don't even need a crimper. Low heat solder in the middle that melts to fuse the wires together. Then the ends are heated to seal it up. Another option is to solder the wires and then use heat shrink tubing over the connection to seal things up. Just make sure to place the tubing over the wire before soldering the connection.

On the rare occasion I will use a 3M Scotchlok 314. They come prefilled with dielectric grease. I've had them in the taillights on my truck for at least 12 years now.

 

It really matters what brand you get too. I have to pay more for them but I try to buy Grote if I can

 

Grote is the only ones I have used. It was life changing when I discovered them

 

For that kind of money it should come with 40 acres

 

You’d think so. Unfortunately it only comes with about a 30 ft garage to park in.
