Sleep Eye!?!?
The irony! -
Pretty stupid of the driver for not looking both ways before crossing those tracks. However, I'd like to know why there wasn't some sort of traffic control device to warn motorists of an incoming train.
Flat Earth Trucker, Kyle G., Grumppy and 2 others Thank this. -
Driver obviously didn’t check both ways before crossing

You can see that that is a very rural area. Train companies have long said that its too costly to put signal devices at every crossing in the country. The NTSB agrees, so the NTSB & the train companies can pick and choose where to put signaling devices and where not to put them.
"Jim Bob" probably crosses that track 20 times a week.... probably taking grain to a storage facility.... never a train. Today, a train came along. -
There is a stop sign and the driver ignored it. Assuming that the driver could even read and understand English and what the sign is for. Driver could not have timed it better even if they tried to.Iamoverit, Bean Jr., Arctic_fox and 2 others Thank this.
