Imagine having an entire design crew and a sizable budget, yet are only able to come up with a neutered version of what has already been released.

Note that the side mirrors have clipped.
Looks like a Cascadia/Coronado crossover with a Volvo grill.

Volvo doesn’t build that body style anymore.
    These are the new ones.

I hate that they recessed the bulldog down into the hood for aero reasons. Even though Mack isn't what it once was, the bulldog needs to be up on top where it belongs.

Would like to see a daycab version

It’s no different than Chevrolet and GMC pickups, the last however many decades.

The Mack is built on the new Volvo cab. The legacy Volvo production line is supposed to be shut down, everything cleared out, and a new, fully-automated production line, like their new plant has, will be installed. This will give them ~2X the production capacity of the new truck. It wouldn’t surprise me to see all Volvo and Mack production at the one complex, in the future.

The new VN Series doesn’t share much with its predecessor body style. The powertrains have been revised-the VN is exclusively powered by Volvo engines, with more horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency, meaning so far you can’t get one with a Cummins engine option. Also they’re exclusively equipped with the I-Shift automated manual transmission, which means you can’t get a manual transmission model anymore.
Volvo doesn’t have any plans to consolidate truck production as of yet. If anything, there have been some layoffs at the plant due to the economic downturn.
They’re going to keep Mack production in Pennsylvania.

Was just on their website looking. They don't list an option for a manual transmission. Just the Mdrive, or Mdrive HD

Just as I figured. Like Volvo it looks like they’re facing out their manual transmissions. The only truck you can get a manual transmission in a Mack truck is the Anthem.
