I'd been using a Remington 30-06. Nothing fancy. But if I could have a .338 Lapua.....

I'm going to play like God and attempt to resurrect a thread from the dead. Time is only a number anyway.
I just got raped by CVS because I didn't do a lot of research. I paid $119.00 for a DOT physical. I guess part of the justification of that fee is the piss test for ketones to determine whether you might be a diabetic or not. And that made good sense to me until I thought about it a bit more. If the DOT doesn't require the piss test then why am I even getting it done? CVS doesn't offer you any choices between getting the minimum DOT physical and the extras which aren't even required by DOT to get (or maintain) your CDL A license. -

Since alive.. I had retired, but had a $$$ job offer. Drive a stretched OTR tractor with 22’ enclosed box with BRAND NEW interior. Seats, sleeper, dash. Had a fire in dash. Gutted, replaced. 900 mile delivery, put my car in box, unload tour back from TN. To be legal I needed a current health card. Went in, doing great. But I asked a dumb question. “Why not test with drop of blood like my mom does?” DR. *ok likely PA* asks if I would mind if he compares. I agree. Nurse does test 180 area. PA all excited, issues, life change…. I stop him. “My A1C was in good range. How is this possible?” He agrees to test again 72.
Then they check blood pressure. HIGH. He asked if any reason it might be high? I suggest scaring me I was a diabetic could.
Had to wait 10 minutes to calm down enough to pass.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
And even if I did think it was required I would have probably guessed it was for drug testing, not blood sugar testing.
Even if it is required, test results were complete in less than the time my visit took to finish. So, no justification for the huge price gouging for a piss test. They didn't send anything out to a lab. I guess they could claim that the test strips have gone up 200x in the past few years due to the pandemic. That's what everybody else seems to do these days to justify the inflated prices. -
Since this got resurrected, I gotta say that I miss the good ol days when you could get a DOT physical for $9.95
Right across the bridge going into Bayonne was an office trailer with a sign advertising that.
Don’t know why they’re no longer in business…Speedy356 Thanks this.
