I have to bobtail next week from Woodland, AL back to Montana. I see two routes, one through Memphis and the other through St. Louis. They both converge at KC. Any suggestions on which one to take?

That depends on if you want to be on an interstate the whole time or not. Myself, I’d run the south way through Memphis because I despise driving anywhere around Nashville. Plus being bobtail it will be an easy trip up through Thayer and West Plains MO, and it’s some nice scenery.

I don’t mind hitting state highways and two lanes. I enjoy looking at stuff since it’ll be a pretty boring trip anyhow.JolliRoger and Oxbow Thank this.

Let's see pics of the new truck!!!

If you haven’t been down that way before north central AR and south central MO is a neat area. If the scale at Cabool MO is open make sure you don’t blow it. They’ll chase. Lol.Lav-25, JolliRoger, Oxbow and 4 others Thank this.

Beings it’s my own personal rig I’m not too worried. I’ll roll through just so they don’t feel the need to pursue.Lav-25, JolliRoger and Oxbow Thank this.

I bought it with the intention to flip it. Rigs back east are priced a lot lower, so I wanted to see if it’s worth reselling them on the other side of the country. If I can make a couple bucks I may make it a side hobby.
If it doesn’t sell I’ll use it to haul my 40’ toy trailer. A hell of a lot cheaper than a new 1 ton truck even with the worse fuel mileage. May even look at making it a single axle.Attached Files:

I'd pick the route through Memphis, not because of anything but the traffic through Memphis is less than Nashville & St Louis roads are awful when I was last through there.
Gumper Thanks this. -
Any suggestions on quiet places to spend the night? Not sure if I’ll pick a hotel or just stay in the truck. Can’t bring many supplies with me in the luggage.

When I am bobtail, I look at anything but truckstops, since I offroad and camp alot I have an app on my phone onx offroad and it will show you all the camping spots and you can make a decision if your truck will get there with no damage. I would do that for a night before I would stay anywheere near a truckstop
