Reviving an old thread...
Was chatting with a Mabe driver couple days ago. It sounds like a great place but would like a few more opinions. -
Mabes is a great family owned company. Been with them for 3 years and I can honestly say the family really does care about their drivers. The safety department has a great guy managing it. Runs are mostly east of 35. You’ll do a lot of freight for Dollar General and Michelin Tires. As all companies you will have your ups and downs and what works for some will sometimes not work for other but as someone who would love to retire here I highly recommend them.

Thanks for the reply
I would like to go farther west but I suppose I'll get by.
Dollar General? Deliver to stores or DCs? Don't think I would want to navigate Dollar General store parking lots. -
In my experience, "family owned company" usually means that the owner's catty gossip of a wife is the HR manager, and his good-for-nothing son is being groomed to inherit the company despite his alcohol and gambling addictions.....

That generalization might be true sometimes but not helpful to get specific opinions about one company.bryan21384 Thanks this.

Runs to the west coast come available from time to time. I’ve ran a NC to Washington state once and have been offered it a few times after but it’s not really something I care to do. Their Dollar General account is 100% DC only and mostly drop n hook.

I’m thankful I have had different experiences than you.bryan21384, OldeSkool and Oxbow Thank this.

What is their hometime policy. Are they are 3 week out 3 days home place?

2 day old account, 3 posts, all here. Did someone in the office find their company's name on the internet?
