Got pulled in to the San Jon scalehouse and asked for registration and IFTA.
Guy then asked where I was headed, and hit me up for $73.20.
I asked him for what, and he said my company only has one truck registered in NM, and it wasn't the truck I was driving.
Sorry boss, but it's a small business and some things get overlooked, but when I say small business, I mean one truck small.
He looked at my registration again and asked me to leave.
Callin it a day in San Ysidro

New Mexico and their dumb ### fuel permit. Are u registered for the annual ? It's like 12 dollars then file every qtr with ur ifta. All online now.
Otherwise they charge u for a single trip permit at the port... they are one of the few states that double dips in ifta tax and have their own seperate state tax too...wouldn't know it by driving on the crumbling roads out there....
I will say there's hardly ever any enforcement waiting at the ports.. never seen anyone get chased for what it's worth.. I would certainly never drive past a open scalehouse since I am law abiding citizen

Everybody's got to be somewhere. Sorry that's all I've got. I've been to Jersey, can't remember ever being happy about it.singlescrewshaker, exhausted379, cke and 10 others Thank this.

Been to Jersey many times in years past. But only 1 time that I was able to drive around without some idiot being around me. And that was during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy when I was delivering generators up there…..

We used to take blue corn to San Jon. The absolute uuuglyest gal I ever sent was in their one day. I swear Jerry hadda tie a pork chop around her neck to get the dog to play with her.

Yeah, I have the annual, so I'm not sure where this guy mixed up.
He didn't admit he was wrong, but I kept my 73.20$ .singlescrewshaker, blairandgretchen, IH Truck Guy and 10 others Thank this. -
Guy told me he thinks it has enough chains on it. I only seen 3 and I looked under it….

Was a big operation in years past selling parts. Stopped to look at the W900 since I was told it had a set sticks in it, wanted to look at the auxiliary. Turns out it has a 13spd only…..

Looks like I’m going to have to figure all this port stuff out. One place I’ve never loaded. Seems a piece of mining equipment is on its way from Poland, needs a ride to WV, then a ride to Pittsburgh for the mining expo. After the expo ether a ride back to WV or back to Baltimore to be shipped back to Poland, unless it goes to a mine somewhere.
Customer ask about trailer rental and if I could leave the equipment on my lowboy for about a week versus paying for a crane to unload, then reload at a later date. Have to give this some thought. Renting a trailer is one thing, but losing $$ for the trailer being tied up and not accessible is a horse of another color….singlescrewshaker, High Stepper, blairandgretchen and 13 others Thank this.
