At this point, actual carhaulers are becoming a rare breed, far outnumbered by guys who haul cars. The Dark Side has a draw that's ruined more than a few who know better.

    Small bundles 62.5”
    Approx 1,600lbs/bundle

Two tiedowns if the article is:

    (i) 5 feet (1.52 meters) or less in length and more than 1,100 pounds (500 kg) in weight; or

(ii) Longer than 5 feet (1.52 meters) but less than or equal to 10 feet (3.04 meters) in length, irrespective of the weight.

Xstraps are not flush with all tiers. Therefore any article/ bundles not braced would need 2 straps.

Placement of straps ( middle of a 2*4 ) rather than direct contact or over side lumber is a concern.

Gaps between several bundles. ( Difficult to see from camera angle ).

Top rear bundle is not secured.

Let's see pictures of everything you haul..

the gaps have nothing to do with the driver .
That's the forklift guy did that, nor is it a huge deal.. don't need 2 straps over a bundle if it blocked with bundles in front of it ... lots of nitpicking going on here for no reason.. the rear bundle has a strap over the back of it. Is it the best placement no, but it will do the job and it is tied down...

There is much worse crap rolling down the roads everyday than this..

Driver takes responsibility for the load.
If you can’t communicate with the loader or they refuse to reposition, then refuse the load.
    Been there, done that.
Be professional, Protect the Public, Protect your Product, Protect your Reputation.
    And everyone goes home safe.

1st Weigh Station open they would be pulled in for closer inspection.
Prefer not to rely on the kindness of strangers with authority to issue tickets.
Or make the call to Safety that I am Out of Service.

Happy with my standards. And always striving to improve.

Best of Luck with your Situation

And if the load was preloaded ? What's the driver to do?

Nothing wrong with the load that was posted. U are the only one that thinks so.. it was legally secured , the driver and everybody around him will be going home safely... no reason to oust him or call into his company for a perfectly legal load.

Feel free to roll over to the post flatbed pics thread so we can critique all your securement jobs

You're ####ing kidding right? 2.25" too long so needs more straps? Nobody is ever going to pull that guy over and the safety guy will just laugh at that email. No cop is ever going to be able to see the difference between 5' and 5'2.25" from anywhere.

Also you cropped that picture with the big gaps to hide the 2 straps over the top of every bundle with a gap. Here I numbered them for you since you had trouble counting.

    Screenshot_20250427_231540_Photos.jpg

Also that top bundle is touching the one in front of it by a few inches on the bottom.

Top r ear is not secured but you posted a picture of the strap securing it circled? How do you figure that?

You're nitpicking over nothing. There's ####### in white Volvos going down the highway ripping down bridges and putting 4 chains on a 80,000lb excavator. This guy isn't a problem.

Oh that's vinyl siding? That stuff ain't the lightest. Ok then that is an automatic fail in the strap job.

Woke up this morning and noticed this guy next to me when I walked in to grab a coffee.

    20250428_012139.jpg

He had 4 of these. I guess if the operating weight includes the buckets he might be legal.

@Walk Among Us how many binders does ATS give each truck?.
