One of my favorite jobs, but wouldn't go back. I'm older and stick to boring now.

I'd say you're pretty lucky. I always worried about the damage one could do.

Looks like it had just pulled out of a waller, so he was good n slick

He was a little guy. I didnt have my brights on of course, so I didnt see him till the last second. But if he hadn't run back from the middle of the road I wouldn't even hit him.

Better than I faired, if that was a deer, although this was two deer and my bumper had been bent and rent so many times from off-road end dump crap it bends if you look at it wrong, this was after bending the bumper back out with my winch bar so I could get it home IMG_20241008_112224765_HDR.jpg

It's been decided. I think this week is a wash. After I get the alignment checked this afternoon (from an unrelated issue) Im gonna head back towards the house. Gotta be home Thurs awyway, so I'll just take the extra time to play mechanic.

    New (used) bumper
    New hood hinge
    New shocks
Mount brackets and new generator box
Fix air leak on the transmission

    Gents @sawmill @OLDSKOOLERnWV @wore out

I know of the disc brakes in the 80/90's. Hays maybe. 30/30 chamber, scam disc brakes with slack adjuster. On the class 8 stuff by the time I worked on it, they all had been removed.

Am I right to assume adjusting slack tight, back off a 1/2 turn to start?

Appreciate anyone's input. I never worked on one.

Skid steers are the only machine that makes me nervous. Working on one right now that caught fire around the engine. Operator had the bucket aimed down so the arms couldn't drop far enough to get the door open. He had to boot out the rear window to escape, right over the burning area.
