I went once to this place where I didnt even see a doctor. Was an LPN, and her first time doing it on top of it. Does a few things, and left the room. Came back, did a few more things and left the room. Ect. My neck measured 15.5". That, the fact that I was 65 at the time, and my weight was 280. Put me down as a BMI of 40+ (it wasnt - Im 6-1) and said I had to go to THEIR sleep clinic. I dont have sleep apnea. When I go to sleep, I wake up in exactly the position I went to sleep in.

Went to a chiropractor. Walked out with my 2 year card. Those clinics that have their own sleep clinic will 90% of the time want you to get a sleep study. Shocking I know...

If you think you HAVE to use a company assigned clinic, you really dont. You just have to PAY for it if you dont go to them. Its like 50-100 bucks. Once you are on that machine, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get it off your license. Pay the extra, tell the company you went to YOUR doctor and give them the paperwork.

Well, they really dont have a choice... BUT, if you would rather work there AND be stuck with having a CPAP the rest of your driving career then go for it.

Personally, I would quit without hesitation. Hold out one hand with YOUR doctors paperwork in 1 hand, and the truck keys in the other and say "take ONE".

Once you are flagged for the test your license will be held hostage until you get the mask and become compliant. Quitting your company for another one and getting a second opinion wont matter. The scam now owns your cdl not you.

Yep. Back in 95 I got badly hurt. Life changing. Other things I was depressed. A side career I enjoyed gone. Recreation activities gone…. Dr. Suggested I talk to someone on staff. “Fine”. Well they were so busy tossing drugs at everyone I had time to think. EVERYONE was on meds. clergy, Nurses, Janitor, office staff. I still kept other licenses, permits, certifications. That on my file could put that in jeopardy. When shrink finally had time I had cancelled it days before.
So glad my insurance carrier changed before sleep apnea machines got started. I sleep till someone moves around. *except wife she can get up, come back to bed I sleep*. Dog comes in bedroom? I am awake. Dog not allowed in bedroom. but has come in when she is scared, or needs to go out NOW.
