The shift solenoid is on the trans. With truck off spray it with soap water and listen for leaks. Check air lines for oil and crud. Should be clean dry air going to it. Regulator/ filter although rare may be screwed up. Cycle thru the ranges and gears like normal but with truck off. Listen for different sounds the solenoid makes. If getting proper air pressure it Should be relatively firm and quick. If it sounds weak and slow its most likely dirty and /or worn. If in doubt. Change it out.
Another thing to do is check to see and hear if there is air coming out of the breather vent on the too of trans. Those solenoids will leak air out of them slowly into the trans when parked.

Checked this morning for air leaks on top of transmission but none could be found. Only difference I've noticed is when I'm flipping my high low selector switch its got a weird whoosh noise I don't think I've heard before could be I've just never paid attention!! But did seem like while it was slipping it was in the low side idk I'm taking it to another shop today I'll report back. He seems willing to look at it and check it out not just condemn the clutch right away

Got into the shop today. #### thing wouldn't even go into a gear had to be pushed into the bay. Seemed the splitter was getting hung up so they cleaned it up new seals. He's thinking the low low piston was just on edge enough to disrupt things. Took it for a test drive 3 runs up and down the road able to flow through every gear over and over again. It glitched one time very very briefly and caught its self right away and couldn't get it to repeat itself again. He believes it's fixed. The other option is to remove rear of Trans and start looking into things but he's said he's not convinced enough to do the work and cost me time and money. I can't say I'm not worried to risk it guess I was expecting worse news so it's got me worried it's not fixed Seemed to easy a fix lol
