Well, they really dont have a choice... BUT, if you would rather work there AND be stuck with having a CPAP the rest of your driving career then go for it.

Personally, I would quit without hesitation. Hold out one hand with YOUR doctors paperwork in 1 hand, and the truck keys in the other and say "take ONE".

 

Once you are flagged for the test your license will be held hostage until you get the mask and become compliant. Quitting your company for another one and getting a second opinion wont matter. The scam now owns your cdl not you.

 

My local Indiana Occupational Health clinic is insisting I need a sleep study from neck size and weight.

I Googled around and saw there are sleep study home kits you can order and are advertised as DOT approved. I was curious if anyone has tried these.

The idea of doing some kind of hospital sleep study seems to ridiculous. I have a night owl and I work a long 2nd shift regularly going to bed at 4am. Somehow, I doubt a hospital sleep study would accomodate my crazy work schedule sleep hours.

 

Even the decent companies require you go to "their" doctors. As in concentra. OD will axe you if you don't do your medical card through their them. About 1/3 of our line guys were required to sleep in the gas mask.

I'm not fat but there is no way I could do it, stomach sleeper my whole life. Forehead on the pillow face down like a dead body floating in a pond.
