I'm lost and suggestions would be appriciated.
Driving in the Freightliner with a DDs60 my dash lights up "Check Engine" and within a second the engine protection light comes on and shuts off the engine. This happened 4 times while driving at 60mph.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I pulled out these codes from the ECU, 24,25,32,34,35,41,42,43,54,76,85,and I believe 884
Does anyone know wher eI can get a list of codes for this engine.
Thanks

I dont know about the codes but my truck quit me doing 60 in downtown st louis then would not hook up with the comp it ended up taking them 2 days at frieghtliner to find a wire to my ecu had a bare spot and grounded out and killed the engine with both of those lights on

i had this problem twice on a seies 60 one as a matter of fact in st louis. the first was a oil sensor, it went bad and told the engine that it was out of oil, replaced the sensor and it run fine the second time was in el taco in heavy traffic with an od load, what a mess that was .
it seems that there is a small wire that runs fron the battery to the ecu , the connecter on this wire broke off and kill the poer to the ecu and it just quit, when i finally found that small wire and replced the connecter it was fine , cost me a quarter to fix it , i suggest you check your battery's for that wire first, the sensor is almost impssibel to get to.
hope this helped. southernpridehrdman2luv and The Challenger Thank this. -
It could be low coolant, low oil level or pressure, battery voltage too low.Check those, coolant is most likely, after that, it is probably a sensor gone bad, or the last thing mentioned was a bad wire, if the diagnostic computer tells you nothing when hooked up, that is a probable maybe.
Any electronically controlled engine can be shut down by itself.(ECM)The Challenger and Trouble65 Thank this. -
Any time you have multiple codes the first thing you want to do is clean all the battery connections and the grounds on the engine and be sure the power and ground wires to the ECM are clean and connections are tight. Start with the basics, clean and inspect.

Sounds like you need to regenarate the ecm.Do you have a regenerate button on your dash?
LandofconsthinessShatona Thanks this. -
That button on the dash is to allow you to get off the road if it shuts down If memory serves me you get 15 seconds then it shuts down, again and it will restart again for another 15 second. It is a safety set up. Just a thought!

i have attached a code list for the dde 60. i would start with the low coolant level. tug on the wires at the sensor. they should feel good and tight.
