I wanted to work, save money and buy land, build a house cash with no mortgage, but everyday I'm realizing how unrealistic this is. I need to start having more realistic goals.

I was young and stubborn, thought Florida was the be all end all, lived here my whole life, one of the more regrettable decisions I’ve made over the years was leaving PA.

Yeah, the "Sunny State" tricked a lot of people of moving down here, they thought, "oh man, it's sunny, they have great beaches" but they don't take into account about the cost of living here, especially if you own a house, with insurance with them hurricanes? I honestly don't remember it being this expensive, maybe I was a kid then.

The influx of people moving down there has for sure caused the cost living to go up down there..

you guys are right it is getting crazy. My first apartment where I live was 400 bucks a month rent. My first Mobile Home lot rent was right around 600. I now pay close to 800 bucks. A month and I own the mobile home. I feel very lucky.

Don’t feel too bad. I pay $2500 a month for a 3 bedroom townhouse in NW Oregon.

    It's crazy out here.

This is crazy!! Why should we pay taxes on stuff that we own and if we don't pay it, we risk losing them, it's crazy!!! We don't really own ####!!

I would rather owe money on a car right now than a piece of land or a house.
