At my last delivery, I was in the receiving room with about 12 other truck drivers. There was two of us in the room that spoke any English whatsoever. I know this There was four people This oval shaped desk and you would hand your paperwork to the first guy who would go through it enter it into the system and pass it off to the next guy and each time they would have to ask the appropriate driver a few questions. None of them could speak English. Or understand what they were being asked
Siinman, Opendeckin and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
I left California it was getting ridiculous. I could go all day and not hear the english language. It was spooky. And coming from me, that should shock you. And the masks. Everyone addicted to the face diapers. I don't miss it one bit.

I know your retired and want cheap labor, but cheap labor has massively invaded trucking, to the point of safety issues.
You can wash your feet in the sink or toilet at a Pilot/FlyingJ for all I care, just speak English, maintain your lane, don't hit my mirrors when trying to park, and don't park in the fuel island.TheLoadOut, exhausted379 and ElmerFudpucker Thank this. -
So for those who says it's a racist thing regarding the English Proficiency law. According to this video a lot of East Europeans are worried. It a Law for anyone who doesn't speak English. And as said before it's never to late to learn.

My last job they had Indians in dispatch at head office as well as our terminal. Seems the Indians either have the Kings English dialled in perfectly or so poorly they cannot communicate at all. Work etchic is another issue..many walk away from a city load if there is any finger printing involved while the Indian who replaced me on line haul makes himself available 7 days a week…
Siinman Thanks this. -
Here's another thing. Those Indians from South Asia -technically- speak some sort of English - that's the heritage of their being ex British colony but often I really must stretch my ears to have a grasp of they say due to the peculiarity of their pronunciation. Is a cop going to have enough patience and understanding too?

I'm pretty fluent in english, but the millions of Canadians who don't know a single word get a pass? Maybe they should take a test at the border and if they fail they drop their trailer and go home.
AModelCat, exhausted379 and Siinman Thank this.
