Another driver told me he was approached by the nephew of a deceased driver. The nephew said they found his uncle unresponsive after five days. He had been with Indian River for over 10 years. It’s truly disappointing to hear something like this.

That truck is in Clovis terminal it’s a KW.
Friend and dominesorcerer Thank this. -
I was just in Clovis, don't recall seeing any KWs there. There was a nasty looking rollover wreck parked out back though.nextgentrucker Thanks this.

Not having any contact with anyone in the office for five days sounds abnormal to me. Aside from home time, the only time I’ve gone that long without having communication with office personnel is when I load on one side of the country and deliver on the opposite side of the country, where the time gap between shipper and receiver is 5-6 days. On those assignments, there isn’t a need to talk to anyone along the way unless I blow a tire or have an issue.
I could see going a few days without communication if I was on a 34 hour reset, had requested some downtime to rest up, was sick and dealing with a fever, or if I was delivering my final load prior to heading home, etc.
After reading the posts above, I called the driver I brought to IRT who runs under Clovis and has been on a dedicated route in that area for the past 8 1/2 years. He said he wasn’t aware of any Clovis drivers being involved and didn’t know anything about it other than he had heard that someone passed away in their truck.Redtwin, CalculatedRisk, nextgentrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
This was my experience in Murray, Kentucky this afternoon:
Arrival time: 1:50 PM
I parked in the lot. I walked my paperwork into the bay. I received a signature. I walked back to my truck and latched onto an empty tank.
Departure time: 2:09 PM
Total time: 19 minutes

Yea the rollover has been there for awhile the KW was in the lot on the left side close to the road I was told it was under 40000 miles on the odometer but not sure did not check it myself.Friend, nextgentrucker and Redtwin Thank this.

An empty must be back in rotation there, last time I was there a few months no empty ,had to wait to get unloaded and for them to bring the empty back and not fall asleep or another Indian River driver would take the empty and leave
Friend and nextgentrucker Thank this. -
Maybe but from what the family member said he basically lived in the truck and was on the road for months at a time and this happened in the truck... Also had a picture of the driver in his truck at Indian River... And he was recognized as someone I ran into at fair oaks a few times...
Friend, Knucklehead and nextgentrucker Thank this.
