What a shock, an entrenched legacy financial executive doesnt like crypto...

And hes right from his perspective, the us govt should be far more interested with tangibles like ammo etc than crypto, because if the govt fails, its crypto is useless to said govt (at that catastrophic of a level, its likely also useless to everyone else too)

But show me a bitcoin enthusiast who isnt also a prepper, and i'll show you someone who doesnt understand WHY theyre buying crypto in the first place

 

Buying Bitcoin as a prepper strategy is the dumbest possible reason to buy it. Bitcoin is one hundred percent dependent on the internet, both for redemption and for price maintenance. If the balloon goes up the internet will be one of the first things lost.

 

Exactly right. Just like Bitcoin going up in smoke, so will all those ‘certificates’ of what ever precious metals, stones, etc. You want invest in those things, that’s all well and good, buy gotta posses the actual physical item. Those won’t go up in smoke, and they will always have some trade value no matter how bad things get.

 

Ummm no, that's not exactly what I was getting at. Negotiable instruments and even Bitcoin can be good investments. I was just pointing out that if you are the kind of person who is canning vegetables, digging a shelter in the back yard, and waiting for civilization to end, then buying Bitcoin doesn't make a lot of sense.

Most of us are all assuming the zombie apocalypse isn't actually going to happen though.

 

I’d be more interested in 50 lb bags of beans and rice.

 

When the ‘sheet’ ever does hit the perverbial fan, the most important things to have ready access to are;
Firearms
Gasoline
Precious Metals & Cash
Drinking Water

 

In some parts of the world (Venezuela in particular) BABY FORMULA actually has more value than bitcoin or cryptocurrencies!
