Yep getting in the happy sack will catch up with you. I used to take about anything that would keep me awake. Middle 80's I said no more ,if coffee doesn't do it it won't get done . About a year after I quit a buddy stopped by he had some pills got me to try one. Later I was cutting grass , my wife came out to check on me. She said I'd cut the same spot a half dozen times in first gear on a old snapper mower, she said I was leaning into the turns like on a motorcycle. Lol . Haven't had anything stronger than coffee since then.

Moment of silence for Jack Elam.
Mine were pretty good. Of course, this was back in the day when the J had the better restaurant of all the big chain stops.
Speaking of food, IMO the best burgers on the big road were at the WeBareAll places. Well, 30 years ago they were.DeereRunner97, cke, sawmill and 9 others Thank this. -
They did have good food and free showers. I think there is one or two locations left, but I ain’t been in one in years now. The J had a great breakfast buffet.DeereRunner97, cke, beastr123 and 12 others Thank this.

My wife made a rhubarb pie, and a rhubarb cream pie several weeks ago, (a neighbor asked her to, but only wanted half of each) it was actually really good! I have had good rhubarb pie, and barely doable rhubarb pie, think it depends if the person who made it is scared of sugar or not.DeereRunner97, cke, sawmill and 14 others Thank this.

Café Risqué
Gainesville, maybe Ocala, FL?
Round '01 er '02 was up that way seeing some chicks I was acquainted with going to college up there. We may have stumbled in there a time or 3 but I'd a been in no condition to be judging the grub. It was open, we was hungry.. lol
Seemed like a good time, but again memory is hazy at best..DeereRunner97, cke, beastr123 and 12 others Thank this. -
Being half serious I’ve considered building a real full service truck stop. Complete with a full service shop. Details to rebuilds. I-57 traffic keeps increasing. Slobs would probably ruin it and the name would run a few off……Doc’s Pimp Palace. Naturally I’m not talking anything huge. Probably a bigger shop than actual building. Haul our own fuel etc. most likely a large gravel lot I keep graded at least till I seen if it would sink or swim. Being honest I know it won’t ever come to be but it’s a nice thought

Friend added a truck repair shop to his trucking company, he seems to be busy with service work, engine work, alignments, and other mechanical work. Never know, it may be a hit. I’ve often thought of doing truck & equipment rebuilds, but all this computer stuff has went off and left me….DeereRunner97, cke, Speedy356 and 15 others Thank this. -
Dang I haven't seen a good rhubarb pie in a long time! My grandma would make those during the holidays, never had much taste for it as a kid, but I'd like to try it again now that I'm a full grown boyDeereRunner97, cke, sawmill and 10 others Thank this.
