Curious about paid off truck and leasing on.

Krajack used to pay for the paint and they had 6 months to apply it, but that ended in the 70's..

Never heard of a 'paid off' restriction; only one insurance company that refused to insure anything over 20 yrs. old.

Wasn't unusual for companies to run good credit checks on their leased owner operators.

 

Seems I recall Prime making O/Os buy (or lease) a new Truck from their Dealership every 2-3 yrs. The ads with them handing over a gigantic check as an annual bonus comes to mind. Basically an escrow account designated as an annual bonus. Work constantly for peanuts, but get a huge bonus. Like a forced savings account. I guess that works for certain people.
